From the recording Double Clutch Disaster

Double Clutch Disaster's sound is all about the layered drums.  It combines Indian tablas, with drum-and-bass and off-beat dance to capture a unique natural sounding but complex rhythm pattern.  The opening measures of guitar panning from side to side are reminiscent of a call to a public gathering like a "hear ye, hear ye".  The "double clutch" aspect of the title is captured indirectly with the electric bass which periodically does a double slide.  This sound is a metaphor akin to an engine revving twice as one pumps the gas in between double clutching when driving a stick-shift.  The "disaster" part of the title refers to a not so nice experience.  If ever you've been in a car accident, there's a period of time immediately after you've been hit whereby you're in a complete state of confusion.  That feeling is represented by the harsh over-driven electric guitar appearing in the song.  I really like this song for its blending of genres.  A great tune for hard-driving.
